Take the Quill 6 week group challenge

Get together with a few friends that have done the single Quill exercise.

Agree to giving at least one postcard and one letter a week, each. Get together every two weeks to encourage and support each other.

Keep them simple, giving and encouraging.  At the end of the six weeks have a lunch or dinner together and look back on your experiences. Share your reactions and experiences about who God sent across your path. The things that impacted you. The things that challenged or even changed you.

Are you the same “letters” you were when you started?

How can you keep putting your words into action?

In Mahaia Press, our stationary shop, we have cards and postcards that can be used for these challenges. Or you can use anything you like!

The Quill in Action challenge.

This is a day challenge for just you, or you and a friend. Pick a Quill day and make the quill a part of how you live on that day.

What do you do?

Create a space where you deliberately speak or write words of life to someone else.

Choose a couple of mugs or glasses for yourself and someone else and arrange to share a drink, on a park bench, walking on the beach, morning picnic style on the lounge room floor, the back yard, or on the back of the ute - and talk.

Write a simple letter to someone to encourage, inspire, or just thank them. Hand deliver it to their letterbox. Write a postcard and leave it under your plate, cup or glass as you leave if you’re out. Leave it in your car if it’s getting serviced or on a cleaners trolley. Make a thank you sign & stick it on your garbage bin. Put a postcard in some neighbours letterboxes. Be creative.

Get together with a friend and practice your Quill skills, write letters and postcards together. Be honest, hear and see, be present.

Writing letters and postcards can change lives, including your own.

Share your stories, listen to others, write the letters, give the gifts. And don’t forget to thank God for making you unique.

p.s. you’re doing great, proud of you
