We talk about God and having a relationship with Him throughout our website. At Team Mahaia we all have a personal relationship with Him. He is the reason we live our lives the way we do. It’s why we do what we do.
Believing what we do isn’t a prerequisite for Mahaia.org to be helpful in your life. It’s here for everyone, no matter who.
We love God with passion & awe & we’d like you to understand what we mean by that.
We believe in
God the Creator of the universe, that we had a relationship with God and we broke it
We believe in
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who came to the earth revealing God on earth; in the crucifixion of Jesus where he took on himself every wrong thing we ever have done, do now & will ever do or think
so that
God can forgive all our wrongdoing, our sin, see us again, the original way we are all extraordinarily created and restore our broken relationship him.
We believe in the resurrection of Jesus which restores our abundant life with God. The Holy Spirit, the power of God released in us by the resurrection of Jesus. The Bible, the written word of God, and in salvation, our personal choice to acknowledge of all of this & have a relationship with God.
Now you know where we are coming from.
How do you have your own relationship with God?
Simply ask him. Everyone has an invite to his table, and that includes you.
We can do that together now by having a conversation with him.
“God, I know I need you & I want a relationship with you.I know you made everything including me.
Forgive me for trying to live without you and for everything in my life that goes against you, my wrongdoings, I give you back my whole life. I give you full control of it. I want a life that is filled with you, filled with your love and acceptance. A life that has your direction, your purpose and your meaning.
Come into my life. Heal me and make me whole again. Teach me your way of living. Open my eyes and my heart to you.”

You’ll need a bible to explore. It’s God showing you how to have a relationship with him. His stories and how to’s for navigating this gift of the new life you’ve started living
Start with Matthew, the first book of the New Testament, its an introduction this adventure. The next 3 books, Mark, Luke & John tell the same story but from their perspective so you’ll get the big picture perspective as well as details.
These are called the Gospels and are part of the New Testament
Then hop to the beginning, Genesis, to get a glimpse of Creation & the first of many, many great stories.
This is the first book of the Old Testament. It’s what was happening before Jesus came.

Get a hard copy if you can, it’s great to make notes, underline, and use !! There are lots of versions the modern ones are NLT (new living testament) NIV (new international version), The Message, The Passion, New American Standard (NASB).
Download a free bible app like the Bible Hub which has all those versions. Keep to the simple ones until you get to know your way around.
Most have a section called Daily Verses, or something similar. These are quotes from all different books of the Bible to get you thinking & to tell you more about the God that you’ve just met.
