The Grace of Gentleness
There is nothing weak in Gentleness, it’s one of the greatest qualities. It’s the complete opposite of pride. It is a humble and considerate spirit, that avoids unnecessary hardship, but is not slow to use necessary force. Supporting others during times of weakness so they can achieve their full potential in God. Teachable and open minded to others. Tolerance and graciousness. The moral quality of dealing with people in a kind and considerate manner. A voluntary, conscious choice to demonstrate controlled strength.
This fruit of Grace comes from a servant heart and a yielded life as an outworking of their relationship with God. It comes from a mind that, steeped in wisdom, has a grasp on and a deep understanding of the Word of God. This is a fruit we intentionally grow in. A life with Gentleness acknowledges the Grace that has been extended to it by God.
Goodness, Kindness and Gentleness are the qualities most under rated by the world and are among the most favoured in the Kingdom of God.
1 Corinthians 1:27 (NIV): "But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
Matthew 11:29 NIV “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
Titus 3:2b NIV “….be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone.”
1 Peter 3:15 NIV “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”
The strength of Gentleness, think on it.
