Do you want to get well?

Seems like an obvious question right? Who would want to be unwell? Held back in life? Dragging injuries and hurt wherever we go, stopping us from really living and enjoying life. Deep down no one wants this. At the core of our beings we were all created to live and live life  ABUNDANTLY.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10 NIV

However at times in life we can get ‘stuck’ in a prison of symptoms from injuries in our past that we have held onto and not let God heal.

So when someone says ‘Do you want to get well?’  You say “of course I do.” Yes, we most definitely want to be free from the physical and emotional symptoms, but do we want to expose our injury to our Creator and be healed?

If we look at John 5:5-9 NLT

“One of the men lying there had been sick for thirty-eight years.  When Jesus saw him and knew he had been ill for a long time, he asked him, “Would you like to get well?”

“I can’t, sir,” the sick man said, “for I have no one to put me into the pool when the water bubbles up. Someone else always gets there ahead of me.”

Jesus told him, “Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk!”

“Instantly, the man was healed! He rolled up his sleeping mat and began walking! But this miracle happened on the Sabbath”.

Jesus asked a simple question, “Do you want to be healed?” And basically the sick man answered “yes, but I have no one to help me”

Jesus’ replies was “ get up, pick up your mat” an immediate response from Jesus . The sick man had relied on others to get well. When he went to the source, Jesus the one who holds all true healing, He was miraculously healed.

Is it time in your life to just be free? Healed from past hurt and injury, to breakout of a prison of symptoms. Can I encourage you to have a conversation with Jesus today. He is our Healer

Matthew 14:14 NLT “ Jesus saw the huge crowd as he stepped from the boat, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick.”
