The Story part 3 Leaving & Trusting

They needed to leave, they were running out of time. Everything was organised and he’d found some neighbours leaving with a small caravan of traders to journey with. His main problem was outside, right now with his weeping wife. He smiled, in all of this Mary was worried about a donkey! He’d bought a second donkey to carry everything they needed, but he knew there was more to her tears, the journey so close to the baby coming and no family there to help. The other women in the group would be there for her but it wouldn’t be the same. It was truly going to be alright. He’d overheard her this morning singing quietly to herself ‘my soul praises God, and my spirit rejoices in God my saviour’. Whatever came her way, his Mary looked first to Yhwh. So would he, Elohim would take care of them and keep them safe. The plan was to get to Pella in four to five days if the weather held. Then on to Abila and across the Jordan to Jericho, the hardest, and most dangerous part of the journey. The traders assured them that it would be safer at this time of year, all they needed to do was make sure they had enough food and water for themselves and the animals.

He’d done all he could, now it was time to trust and time to go.
