The presence that Empowers

God’s presence has the power to cause all things.

In Exodus 3:13-14 it mentions the personal name of God- Yahweh. Yahweh meaning “ I AM, to be, he causes to be.”

Even though God has many names to reveal His nature, like Jehovah-Jireh (The Lord will provide), El Shaddai (God almighty), El Roi (The God who sees me) He, choose His personal one. To assure Moses that His presence and power was with him, God revealed himself as Yahweh, (I am). God was asking Moses to do a big thing, the obedience to do it would take great courage and trust. However God, in His love, empowered Moses for this task by giving him signs that he was with him. So that others would acknowledge his authority and the words he spoke on God’s behalf. In carrying out the steps of obedience and trusting God Moses heralded in the biggest exodus the world had seen. Setting the captive Israelites free after 400 years, and setting up the laying hold of the promised land. All made possible by the presence of Yahweh, and the personal relationship He has with His people.
