Isaiahs Guide
Righteousness. The quality of being morally right or justifiable. It is intrinsic to God’s nature, righteous and faithful Psalm 11:17NLT. Human righteousness is being in right relationship with God, given through faith in Jesus at salvation Romans 3:22NLT. This needs a complete transformation of our entire being and the power for that change is the Holy Spirit Ephesians 4:24NLT. Gods righteous nature means he acts justly and is a call for us to do the same
Micah 6:8NLT.
To become righteous in our Kingdom Perspective, we are given freedom from the constraints of humanity to daily learn to walk in his righteousness.
Having become and continually becoming righteous we can then be planted for Gods glory Isaiah:61:3NLT. And having been planted, we can live a life of active righteousness. Isaiah 61NLT is our guide, our reference for active righteousness…
v1 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me..”
Where we stand, where we live from, the power of the Holy Spirit is in us for his work
Why the anointing, what actions does it call for?
to..
v2 Bring good news to the poor,
Comfort the brokenhearted,
Tell captives they will be released,
Let prisoners know they will be freed,
Tell those who mourn Gods favour is here, as is Gods anger at their enemies
Actively and practically be the hands and feet of Jesus serving others
What will be the result of active righteousness?
V3-4 God will exchange their mourning for a crown of beauty and joyous blessing
Festive praise instead of despair
In their righteousness, their relationship with him, they will be like great oak trees that God has planted for his own glory.
They will rebuild their ruins and repair things destroyed long ago.
God will rebuild their lives and they will thrive.
Every day we are able to make a difference if we choose to. Every day we need to pursue righteousness, our intimate relationship with our Creator, and let the overflow of his Spirit change our lives and spill onto everyone we have contact with.
