Faithful Grandpa

My Grandpa is 97, and has lived His life for Jesus for around 85 of those years.

He has served in church all his life mostly in the area of music and worship. As a child I remember watching Him conduct the choir and loved it when I was allowed to sit in the front row with Him.

Being a qualified builder/engineer, he used to travel around Australia with Mobile Mission Maintenance helping to build and maintain church buildings, with Grandma, his wife of almost 70 years, along for the adventure.

Grandpa is a father of 5, grandparent and a great grandparent. He tuned and refurbished pianos and was always fixing or building something in His shed, using what He had to bless and help others. I always saw him turn up. He was always present with me and I knew He loved me. When I think about him, there is just one word - FAITHFUL. To me, a faithful Grandpa, to God a faithful servant.

Matthew 25:21  KJ21

His lord said unto him, ‘Well done, thou good and faithful servant. Thou hast been faithful over a few things; I will make thee ruler over many things. Enter thou into the joy of thy lord.’

His life of steadfast, faithful service in and out of the House of the Lord is a testimony of His relationship with God. A tangible outworking of the character of God - His Faithfulness. God gives us people in our lives to demonstrate who He is, His character and the love He has for us.

When you look around your life who has God put in your life that shows you Him?

What do people see of the character of God when they encounter you?

I have such a tangible experience of steadfast faithfulness in my life through my Grandpa and I thank God for Him.
