Handles & Dents

I have the most excellent muc (my word for a cross between a mug and a cup, formal name -dimple cup). It has a handle and it has dents it’s perfect!! Why the fuss? Well, I like holding a cup by the handle in my right hand, and holding a mug by its sides, the dents, in my left. Its just the way my brain works. The dents are for thinking and writing, the handle for socialising. As I said before, perfect. It also blue & green - double perfect!!

I can’t make a regular cup or mug fit into me, no matter how much I try or want it to. However, I fit into my muc. It’s made for me. Not conventional, but I fit it perfectly.

That’s what God is like. You can’t make him fit into what you want him to be. You need to understand you fit into him. It’s something that you just can’t change. If you’re willing, you can come to realise that as you were created by God that’s where you came from. There is a place in his kingdom that is perfectly made just for you to fit into.

My muc isn’t conventional, neither is God. He’s God, not human, and doesn’t have our conventions or limitations. Neither does his kingdom. He is Elohim creator God who stands outside time and space. His ways are far better and they fit everyone, no exceptions. No amount of negotiating, suggesting, demanding or expecting can make him change. He doesn’t respond like a human, and that is the beauty and the wonder of a relationship with him. Discovering who he is, his character, how he works and how he turns a lot of our thinking on its head and brings peace and outstanding perspectives. It is a journey of discovery that brings delight and challenges for a lifetime.

Romans 14:17 NLT “The kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but living a life of goodness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit”
